If the Surge is Working, Why Reduce the Troops?

George Bush is giving mixed messages to the American people.  On the one hand he tells us that the troop surge is working.  On the other, he tells us he going to cut the number of troops in Iraq.  If he's so confident that the troop surge is working, why would he withdraw forces?  Why the two conflicting statements?  Is it possible he could be <gasp> lying???

The reality is that the troop surge is not working and that the American military has been so crippled that Bush has no choice but to gradually reduce the number of soldiers in country.  Unfortunately, he refuses to admit that he was wrong about the war and wrong about the surge.  He is simply trying to keep the war going until the next president takes over.

John Edwards spoke after the stupid dumbass tonight.  The former Senator actually has a plan in Iraq, unlike many other presidential candidates.  He wants to start withdrawing troops immediately and bring our boys home.  This is the right course of action.  Withdrawal is the right decision if only because progress will never be made under the direction of George Bush.

With Bush in the White House, you can be sure that we will stay the course for the next sixteen months.  He has changed nothing in the last 4 1/2 years in Iraq and has no plan to do anything different.

As a result of his incompetence, over 3,000 American soldiers have lost their lives and over 25,000 soldiers have been seriously injured.  If Edwards' plan is undertaken, hundreds if not thousands of Americans could be saved.
